An Ordinary Insanity at the NY Justice Film Festival
A 27-minute film that features Daniel Ellsberg presenting the urgent planetary danger posed by nuclear weapons and encouraging action to dramatically reduce the threat of nuclear annihilation. Ellsberg draws upon his history as a nuclear war planner and as a peace activist.

Oscar-nominated director Judith Ehrlich will be screening at the NY Justice Film Festival with a Q&A to follow.
Judith filmed Dan Ellsberg just one year before he died in June 2023. Despite his advanced age of 91 when filmed, he’s clear and articulate, speaking directly and passionately into the camera. He notes at the beginning of the film, “I’ve long said that to my last breath I will be doing what I can to postpone and avert the risk of nuclear war.”

Mark two years since U.S. Air Force Airman Aaron Bushnell self-immolated in an act of protest meant to awaken the conscience of this country to the human cost of war.

Proceed one block to the Israeli Consulate at 800 Second Avenue, for a Vigil until 12 Noon.
In his final statement, Aaron said: “My name is Aaron Bushnell, and I am an active-duty member of the United States Air Force. I will no longer be complicit in genocide. I’m about to engage in an extreme act of protest but, compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it’s not extreme at all. This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal.”
To honor Aaron’s life and sacrifice, VFP chapters are organizing Vigils and Memorial events on this date.
Please join us standing together in solidarity honoring Aaron’s memory and the hundreds of thousands of Palestinian lives taken since then.
